Frequency Question

I like to train every 5-7 days, as I have stated in previous posts. Howver, during the past few months, I found that on several occassions I trained 10-14 days between sessions. During such times, I gained in either strength, TUL, and/or size. For the most part, I find myself most ready to train after 9 days. My question is, what experiences have you had with training after more than 7 days between workouts? Also, if you workout on non-fixed days (with fixed training day defined as every Saturday, for instance), how do you work such workouts into your schedule? I ask this because I have limited days to train, with Friday evening or Saturday morning as the best training times.
