TO ARCHIVE OR NOT TO ARCHIVE!

Guys

We need to change the software that runs this site. We should be able to edit our posts, remove unwanted posts, keep trolls from re-registering under a new name, etc.

The problem with updating our present system is that it will cost a lot to change it.

New software that has all the security stuff we need is free open source software like "vbulletin" or "pgpBB" however because we use "asp" software to run the site now if we converted we would NOT be able to move our archives (old posts).

Now I realize that some of you guys like Dan have a lot of history in the archives.

That history could be cut and pasted with the dates into the new forum.

The history would also be available at "archive.org" on the "Wayback Machine"

We also have to realize that a lot of the history of this site is to say the least "Tainted" with anti-hit, anti-Mike and anti-heavy duty posts.

I really want to hear your thoughts on this!

For me, the essence of this forum is the sharing of ideas, and not necessarily the form.

I′ve seen other bodybuilding forums with so much tech in them, and all the complexity – which I see as a reflection of their high volume tendencies (just kidding… but really now, isn′t it quite true? (",) ). Do we really need such "complex tech"? I don′t think it′s a necessity.

As I see it, if this board can even simplify its form, the better it would serve the reader. As our routines are simple, so may our board be as well.

Just…

I think maybe just choose a handful of true HD trainees/trainers,such as hitforlife, danabolic, etc and keep their old posts available, and wipe out all the troll BS that Tainted the site for so long.Or just start fresh.I′m not sure if this helps at all,but thats all I can think of at the moment.

I believe it is time to start anew with those who train as mike suggested.
