high protein not needed?

For the last 10 yrs Ive eaten high protein diets. 1.5-2g per bodyweight. Im 220-240 depending on conditioning.

Im in a situation where I can be buying all them tubs of protein. Ive read that we should get most of our cals from carbs and that my body only needs like 100g of protein per day. 1g per kg.

That means the reast of my calories will be coming from carbs and some fat? Wont you gain fat due to all them carbs? Extra calories?

Im trying to lean out so I was going to eat roughly 2200 cals per day.

This is new for me. I always thought I needed to down a shake with each meal and keep carbs low.

MM

If you are in a calorie deficit and constantly getting stronger you shouldn′t gain any fat and should be maintaining your existing muscle.
