Mike Mentzer, Heavy Duty Nutrition, , page 9 80/220 = 0.36 I did not actually count the grams of protein consumed during my recent muscle weight gain of about 6 pounds, but I would estimate it between 0.35 and 0.4 grams per pound. | | | | | | Treetrunk (South Houston, texas, U.S.A.) on 7/26/2008 9:49:03 PM | | | | | I don′t count either but i know i haven′t even eaten 1 gram of protein per lb (like many recommend) on a regular basis. BUT i know i′ve lost a good amount of body fat yet i also gain a good couple of lbs of muscle. But i did made sure to keep my diet low in fats and i also made sure i had enough carbs too. | | | | | | perrymk (Havana, FL, U.S.A.) on 7/27/2008 9:21:08 AM | | | | | While on a weight loss diet many years ago I made a point of tracking every calorie and also every gram of carb, fat, and protein. At least tracked as best I could. I found that between 60 and 80 grams of protein was good for me. Any more and I got gassy. This was at a pudgy starting bodyweight of 188 pounds or so, dropping to the 170s in a few weeks. My strength remained fairly constant. Now I use a percent bodyfat scale as well as training/poundage log and occasionaly a tape measure to help track body composition. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Please Login : | | | E-Mail: | | | | | | Password: | | | | | | Remember me next time | | | | | | | | | | | | | | or, Register Now | | | and enjoy FREE Membership with Highintensity Fan Club! | | | | | | | | | |
