Do certain muscle groups really adapt to being trained with other groups?

I read in a Flex magazine or something that If you always train biceps with chest or shoulders with chest, that those two muscle groups will become acustomed to being trained with each other and they will no longer grow….is that true?…because it sounds so unrealistic to me, i was just curious to know is that true…..im knew to bodybuilding, powerlifted for 7 years……any advice will be greatly appreciated, thank you………………..BADROCK

That is completely bogus. Flex NEVER gives logical reasons for ANYTHING. They just take "experience" from the pros and put it in there.

Ha, that is a dumb thing for them to say.. but look who they are, guess it fits them LOL

Badrock,

Well maybe the answer to that is "NOT TO TRAIN ALL BODYPARTS TOO OFTEN" to allow enough RECOVERY so that the body would continue to respond. Well guess what that has been the contention of HIT for decades! Maybe they (FLEX) had just realize that after all this years!

PEACE.

Generally speaking, FLEX is retarted. It′s a muscle mag for meatheads who love looking at pictures of big massive meatheads and think that looking at them and reading about them will make them a bigger and more massive meathead. I used to read it now and then, but have come to the conclusion that there is almost nothing in the way of valuable information about training in FLEX at all (don′t know about nutrition and suplementation, the former is pretty straight forward to me, and the latter is a waste of money for most). They rarely have any decent reasons for saying what they do, and I gained almost no clarity about anything from that magazine. (I did see some nice pictures of meatheads though, and read about their masochistic routines).

Actually, now that I think of it, I haven′t bought, read, or looked at a muscle mag since probably 1998. …oddly enough, that′s when I started gaining. hmmm. That said, does anyone know of a decent magazine out there. I mean, something that isn′t just trying to get me to buy products and sell me shit suplements I don′t need? I wouldn′t mind readind something every now and then. I remember the ones I did read were just adds and idiots. FLEX, Muscle Mag, Wieder′s thing…..ummm…Muslce and Fitness I think….IronMan wasn′t bad, they had lots of stupid adds (the table of contents was sometimes hard to find), but had less idiots.

Maybe I′ll start a new thread on this. But ya, Badrock, stop wasting your money on FLEX.

Jeff
