Hey Nick,
You′ve been back for a while and now and it′s good to see you around again. You left here quite a while ago and I was just wondering if you could give us a breakdown of where you′re at right now. Perhaps you′ve given an update here before, but I must have missed it. I think you posted a return thread here, but I don′t remember it being too detailed. I can′t find it anyways.
Fill us in mate. How are you training now? How are you eating now? How close are you to your strength and fat loss goals? If I remember correctly, you′ve been stripping fat for a while. How is that going and what have you found works best?
Anyways, good to see you around again and I look forward to your reply.
Cheers, Jeff

Hey smanjh good to hear from you!
Hi Jeff,
Its all experimenting at the moment, I have not come to any firm conclusions yet but I am confident that there is room for much more growth since hitting my ′genetic potential′ with HD.
The reasons I am not 100% is that I am STILL cutting, so I have not yet focused on gaining lean weight, so I have nothing yet to base my opinions on. I went for a some time where I stopped training for a while and put some fat back on, so its taking a while to get lean. But I am almost down to a good lean bodyfat percentage and am looking forward to concentrating on gaining lean mass and staying relatively cut during that whole process.
I want to avoid the condition I found myself in a while back whild doing the con. routine, that is quite bulky, but deconditioned and smooth. So thats why I′m maybe a bit over concerned with getting defined.
I have experimented with high protien, low protien, raw foods, tried Mikes older routines, I tried the musclenow program for a bit and I definately got stronger every single workout that is 3 times a week. I only found the diet hard, for me I cant keep up that kind of protien ratio although I know it works.
I have learned a lot and I am going to use this when I decide its time to stop cutting and start growing. I am going to use a sort of hybrid of the musclenow program where I follow the same increase sets during a cycle, but have taken out a few isolation movements. The routine looks like this:
A) Squats Inclines Dips Military Press
B) Rows Deadlifts Barbell Curl Crunches
Routines are performed mon, wed, fri increasing volume and sets during a 6 week cycle. I would have done just bench press for chest but suffered an ongoing rotator cuff problem which was direct result of bench pressing. So I decided to do inclines instead along with dips after which I have found very good.
Thats all for now.
Cheers mate Nick

Hey Nick,
Thanks a lot for the update. Glad to hear things are going well!
What percentage do you want to get down to? I remember you saying somewhere that your lower abs are starting to show up. What percentage is that for you? You′ve been cutting for a while I think, so you′re probably looking forward to ramping up the cals again and going for broke?
Also, how has your weight and measurements changed over the course of losing all the fat? I was thinking of cutting down a bit too in the not so distant future, and it would be good to know what to expect on the tape measure when I finally do.
Routine looks pretty good. The MN 6 week cycle is an awsome hypertrophy program in my view. Certainly does the job when gaining size, that′s for sure. Have you tried a full cycle before? If so, how did you like weeks 5&6? I always did the 5 day a week program and those weeks almost burried me. Size gains were well worth the pain though.
The diet is definately tough. I always found that the hardest part of the program, way eaiser than the training if you can believe it. All I can say is, try to follow the eating plan as much as you can. Lower the protien ratio to 80/20 if need be, but follow the cal recommendations. They make ALL the difference is actually getting any gains out of your effort.
lol…Here I am giving eating advice to you! Didn′t you spend months on 4500 a day a while back? Just don′t forget to increase when you′re supposed to.
Oh, and one thing about the rotator cuff. Have you started doing any re-hab work for it? I had a pretty bad right cuff, then my left cuff "popped" pretty badly back in August, and some re-hab work has really helped to the point that I can flat press again pain free. I′ve also fixed a few crucial form problems with Rippetoe′s book that have made a difference as well. Just a thought anyways if you′re interested in flat pressing again someday.
Talk to ya later, Jeff
