HD DUDE′S JOURNAL

I am starting a Journal here – I know I am new to the board but not to HD. i am doing the MWF routine. Due to work conflicts tomorrow I did my monday workout today. ( chest/shoulder/triceps )

chest: seated pec flyes 1x11x190 supersetted with incline bb press 1x8x275 rest two minutes and then did pec dec 1x9x190 ss with incline bb press 1x5x275

shoulders:
db laterals 1x8x 45 supersetted with smith presses 1x6x220
db laterals 1x10x40 supersetted with smith press 1x7x205

triceps
pushdowns 1x10x190 supersetted with close grip bench press 1x 8x 225

total workout time 32 minutes.

I have recently been experimenting with alternating straight sets with pre-ex sets every other workout. So next chest workout for example I will do a straight set of inclines rest and then do a straight set of an isolation exercise ( pec-decks, crossovers, whatever ) So far it has been working well but I will wait to decide until I have more workouts to decide how effective it is.

leg extensions 1x12x180 superset with Leg press 1x13x675
legextension 1x10x180 superset with leg press 1x10x675

leg curls 1x8x140
stiff leg deadlifts 1 x9x 225

back and biceps on friday

Still doing original HD routine. Friday was back,biceps

back
straight arm pullovers 1x15x165 supersetted with pulldowns 1x7x240 rest 2 min.
straight arm pullovers 1x12x175 supersetted with pulldowns 1x5x250

bent over rows 1x12x275
shrugs 1x10x405

biceps
preacher curls 1x10x130 supersetted with db curls 1x9x55
preacher curls 1x9x130 supersetted with close grip pulldowns 1x10x170

Good workout! I might start experimenting with strip sets from time to time also. I am finding good results with alternating the pre-ex every other workout. Next time I do back I will drop the pullovers and go right into pulldowns. Same with biceps. This has also helped with the amount of weight I can use after the isolation exercise. I have been on a reduced calorie diet but am still seeing good strength gains. Shrugs were up 40 pounds from last time.

I may also stick with the close grip pulldowns for biceps as I seem to feel them more than the db curl

chest/shoulders/triceps tomorrow. Will try to update more too.

chest -smith machine inclines 1x8x285 supersetted with peck deck flyes 1x14x200
smith machine inclines 1x5x285 supersetted with peck deck flyes 1x11x200

seated machine laterals ( Atlantis equipment ) 1x11x95 supersetted with seated machine press ( Atlantis shoulder press ) 1x8x230
machine laterals 1x8x95 supersetted with machine presses 1x4x230

triceps

pushdowns 1x12x190 supersetted withdips 1x13xb.w
pushdowns 1x7x210 supersetted with dips 1x8xb.w

great workout! getting stronger and looking a little more defined. I am trying to get to 190-195 by August. Current weight is 233.7 this a.m. on an empty stomach.

Tomorrow I will do some cardio. Next workout is wednesday ( legs )
